Consultation: Introducing Fees in the Employment Tribunals and the Employment Appeal Tribunal
The government is proposing to reintroduce fees for employment tribunal claims, nearly 7 years after the Supreme Court quashed the previous charging regime; ruling it to be unlawful.
The proposals are for a £55 fee to issue any claim at an ET or EAT and there would be no separate hearing fee. They have said this would help fund the Tribunal Service, incentivise parties to settle and encourage better engagement in Acas early conciliation.
