OPEN LETTER FROM THE BSN TO SENIOR MANAGEMENT OF LAW FIRMS

The directors of BSN have penned an open letter to the senior management of law firms, most notably the Top 25, to draw their attention to the on-going issues surrounding the inequalities within the profession.  Attached is the letter for reference.

Within the letter, we set out a number key areas for change that include better gathering and reporting of diversity statistics, retention and promotion of BAME staff (particularly at the junior end) and also on reviewing the firm’s organisational culture.

We do not usually produce open letters as much of our work is often done in more discrete ways, but we felt that the time was right to produce such a call for positive action.
