We’ve been working at the heart of the profession since 1858. We’re here for solicitors when times get tough.
The Solicitors’ Charity has been supporting solicitors in times of need or crisis since 1858. When times are hard, we provide financial assistance and access to emotional and practical support to help people get back on track.
We aim to make a permanent impact and positive change to the lives of the people who ask us for help.
Formerly named The Solicitors Benevolent Association and SBA we recently became The Solicitors’ Charity.

The mental health charity for the legal sector
LawCare offer free, confidential emotional support, peer support, and information for people working in legal sector in the UK, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man.
We advocate for improvements in mental health practices within legal workplaces and actively lead cultural transformation through education, training, and research.
We collaborate with legal educators, regulators, professional bodies, special interest groups, and legal practices to address the growing body of research that shows how accepted working practices and culture in law undermine mental health.
We’ve been supporting people working in the legal sector for over 25 years.

A Lifeline for Solicitors – Advice for Solicitors from Solicitors
The scheme is staffed by solicitor volunteers and is endorsed and supported by the Law Society, Lawcare, and the Solicitors’ Charity. The volunteers have had to demonstrate their experience and expertise in the relevant fields in order to become members of the scheme. They are all in private practice and are giving their time freely with no expectation of reward.
