Support

Working in the legal sector can be extremely stressful and demanding. This page details organisations that offer support for solicitors.

The Solicitors' Charity

Supporting you since 1858

A crisis can happen to anyone.

That’s why we offer impartial, non-judgemental help for all solicitors in crisis – no matter what your background. Don’t be afraid to get in touch, we can help.

We can only help if…
  • You are a solicitor (current or former) on the Roll for England & Wales
  • You are (or have been) financially dependent on a current or former solicitor
We can offer some support immediately without doing full financial assessments eg. for mental health, career help and money management or debt advice. We may be able to offer financial support if…
  •   Your total household income is below our thresholds. We use the Households Below Average Income (HBAI)* approach as our baseline for establishing eligibility
  • You do not have access to savings of more than £16,000*
    *from 1st August 2024

The Solicitors’ Assistance Scheme offers free confidential help and legal advice for all solicitors in England and Wales, their families and employees on any problem troubling them, whether personal or professional.
