Greater Manchester Pro Bono Steering Committee

The Greater Manchester Pro Bono Committee encourages and supports the voluntary provision by the legal profession in the region of free legal assistance to those in need.

The Greater Manchester Pro Bono Committee was established in 2022.

Following individual consultation meetings, a roundtable meeting was convened in July 2022 by the Manchester Law Society and the national pro bono charities, in association with the Greater Manchester Law Centre and Manchester Citizens Advice, with the support of a number of Manchester law firms and universities/law schools.

50 local representatives from the legal profession, the judiciary, universities, law firms, barristers and line advice agencies, together with representatives of national organisations, decided to establish the Greater Manchester Pro Bono Committee.

We are working with the Attorney General and other regional committees to raise awareness and collaboration in the field of Pro Bono.
