The Manchester Law Society proposes the establishment of a dedicated Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Forum, separate from the Civil Litigation Committee, to reflect the distinct needs, challenges, and developments in these major areas of law.

This forum will be relevant to practitioners, academics, and stakeholders with a professional interest in personal injury and clinical negligence work.

The principal aims of the committee will be to:

  • Support and represent: Act as a voice for practitioners working in personal injury and clinical negligence law, ensuring their interests and concerns are represented locally and nationally.
  • Promote best practice: Encourage excellence and ethical standards in the conduct of personal injury and clinical negligence claims.
  • Enhance professional development: Organise seminars, workshops, and roundtable discussions to promote learning, collaboration, and continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Monitor and influence: Respond to proposed legal and procedural reforms, consultations, and policy initiatives affecting the sector.
  • Build networks: Provide a platform for dialogue and support among practitioners, and foster stronger links between the legal profession, medical experts, and other professionals.
