Applications open for Senior Chair of the Health Service Products (Pricing, Cost Control and Information) Appeals Tribunal
The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) has opened applications for the role of Senior Chair of the Health Service Products (Pricing, Cost Control and Information) Appeals Tribunal
This is an excellent opportunity for solicitors and barristers with at least seven years post-qualification experience to apply for a fee-paid leadership post; no previous judicial experience is required.
The Tribunal covers England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and is responsible for determining appeals against enforcement decisions imposed on manufacturers and suppliers in relation to the pricing of, and information relating to, medical supplies pursuant to sections 260 to 264a and 265 of the National Health Service Act 2006.
The Senior Chair will be responsible for the overall judicial administration of the appeals tribunal and will provide leadership to the panel of tribunal chairs and the other members of the tribunal.
The work of the Tribunal is currently via remote meetings. There are no minimum sitting requirements. It is anticipated that the Senior Chair will be required for up to 12 days a year on an ad hoc basis.
