Join us for their Northern Pride Series during LGBTQ+ History Month, where we seek to connect the professional LGBTQ+ community, with an evening of engaging panel discussions and an outstanding keynote speaker.
Keynote: How Can the Legal Profession Work to Assist the Trans Community? A Look into Activism, the Law, and “Pressing for Change”.
Keynote Speaker: Professor Emeritus Stephen T. Whittle OBE
Professor Emeritus Stephen T. Whittle OBE has been instrumental in shaping professional, educational, and social environments for trans people worldwide. He will speak about his personal experiences lobbying for trans rights; his involvement in successful campaigns leading to the Gender Recognition Act 2004 and the Equality Act 2010; and his work advising governments across the globe on transgender issues.
Networking
The evening will finish with an open discussion and networking drinks: a great opportunity to make new connections.
Timings
- 5.45pm-6.15pm: welcome drinks reception.
- 6.15pm-6.45pm: keynote Speaker: Professor Emeritus Stephen T. Whittle OBE.
- 6.45-7.15pm: panel discussion with LGBTQ+ legal experts.
- 7.15pm onwards: networking reception.
