International Scale Up Programme
This programme is being delivered by the Enhanced Trade Partnership in Greater Manchester, this programme brings together the combined expertise and resources of the GM Business Growth Hub, Department for Business and Trade, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority. Together, we’re building a globally competitive, internationally connected business community right here in Greater Manchester.

What Can You Expect from the Programme?
As part of the programme, eligible businesses can access a grant of up to £2,500 to support their export strategy, alongside tailored 1‑to‑1 guidance from International Trade Advisers to help develop a robust export action plan.
Participants benefit from expert-led workshops, support with trade missions and market visits, and connections to overseas partners, export champions, and mentors.
Additional perks include 20% off the first year of membership with the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce (for new members only), plus preferential rates on the Chamber’s wide range of international trade services—including their British Chamber of Commerce Foundation Award in International Trade.
Who Should Apply?
The programme is designed exclusively for companies based in Greater Manchester and are ready to take their business global, and meet the following criteria:
- Have been trading in the UK for at least 3 years
- Have (ideally) registered year-on-year growth in the past 3 yrs
- Have a scalable product and/or service
- Has its leadership committed to international growth as a key priority for the business. The programme requires commitment in time and resources for 6 months.
- All sectors welcome

If you are seeking to grow your business globally but the timing isn’t right for your business to join this cohort, please note, we will open expressions of interest for Cohort 2 in January /Feb 2026.
